Just a comment for what it is worth, and this is directed ONLY to those of you on this FB page please, as I do not wish it misunderstood as it has been when I have made similar statements in the past--I love Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas for their spiritual meanings particularly and primarily. That is mostly why I celebrate them. That however does NOT mean I actually enjoy ordering Jimmy Johns in and making that my Easter meal however. Nor do I fare well on tofu or vegetarian soup, at least not on a festive occasion. That is not a put down of anyone--not at all--but just a statement. Not suggesting this for me, at least not for this year anyway, but if you know of any permanently single folks you may wonder why they do not just go out with one another while you have your family dinners in peace. However please keep in mind that we (single people) do not all happen to know one another--however we know you, our friends or family. As I said I am not mentioning this for this year, but for the future, if you have a family and are planning to feast, please consider sharing the Holiday meal with at least one of us who may not be doing so. Do not assume we have plans because many of us do not. If I know ahead I can make some mean (or as some work friends teasingly call them special) brownies, and would be very happy and honored to participate if and where I truly feel welcome and comfortable. Which also means do not call me 1/2 hour before the event and tell me you had intended to invite me earlier but just forgot. Just saying I would love a hot, tantalizing ham dinner with people who really wish to share, and where I am not feeling as though I am the 5th or 6th wheel or an afterthought. Maybe next year. Or maybe this will help someone else who is in my position to not be forgotten. Thanks.
