Just a few of the films banned in the U.S. over the years, that - TopicsExpress

Just a few of the films banned in the U.S. over the years, that country that is so incensed about the hacking of The Interview. Buffalo Bills Reenactment of the Massacre at Wounded Knee in 1906--banned as too sympathetic to Native Americans. Margaret Sangers Birth Control in 1917. Song of the South in 1946--banned as too sympathetic to African-Americans. Salt of the Earth in 1954 which portrayed a strike by Mexican-American mineworkers in the American Southwest--led to the imprisonment and/or blacklisting of several of the key figures involved. Viva Maria in 1965--banned as anti-Catholic. I am Curious Yellow 1969--banned due to nudity (portraying multiple gory killings is fine but nudity is obscene). Monty Pythons Life of Brian (really!) in 1979--banned in several places as anti-Christian. The Yes Men Fix the World in 2010--temporarily banned due to being subject of a lawsuit by the US Chamber of Commerce (really!). This partial list excludes of course all the movies that were never made due to lack of financial backing because of their progressive content. And finally we have Hilary Clintons famous attack on the movie Death of a President which portrayed the fictitious assassination of Dubya: I think its despicable. I think its absolutely outrageous. That anyone would even attempt to profit on such a horrible scenario makes me sick. Would that apply to Seth Rogen and his backers too, Hil?
