Just a reminder: Crimson and Clover is on a very interesting, and in flux, timeline of 1965. A lot starts changing in 1964-1967. Pictured below is Pig Pen (original lead singer of the Grateful Dead pictured in 1966). I think we need to make sure we do not neglect the early 60s hippie counterculture that was blossoming from the seeds planted by the beatniks in the 50s, and the folkmusic movement of the early 1960s. The hippie movement is seen mostly as 1969 and the Woodstock era, but in truth Woodstock marked the death of the hippie, and although the media didnt get the story till around 1967, the face of the nation and its garb and style and wardrobe was a changing during the period our film lives in. For this reason I am making an executive casting call decision to insist that we DO properly represent this part of the counterculture to some extent. this will also help to solidify us as a neo-American Graffitti, which embraces all that is the early 1960s, including the hippies!
