Just finished Children of Men Wow. I have never bee this disapointed or underwhelmed by a film in a long time. The story is far to quickly paced, the tie spent with characters seems rushed, and the visuals, while stunning, remind me of the pretensiousness of James Cameron (if James Cameron was super art-housey) The only item of merit are the performances. Clive Owen was great, Julianne Moore awesome as usual, and Michael Caine was perfectly cast. Any other director could have easily fleshed out a decent film, but Alfonso Cuaron seems intent on creating films that I liken to energy drinks, fun while they last, but there is really nothing of substance.
