Just finished dinner after a long day walking the Imola swap meet - TopicsExpress

Just finished dinner after a long day walking the Imola swap meet on a rainy Friday. Got smuggled in in the back of a parts van early before the vendors were set up. Was great to run into so many people today! Sam DE cousmaker from Lambretta finder Belgium, manu - Reverendo Mud, Isaac Isaac, Mark - Scooters Bellissimo, Bruno Pisaniello - totally Scooters, and everyone else! The scooter scene is great, so many people sharing in a hobby and we were all comparing and sharing our finds and accessories scores today, but I have to say one thing really hit a nerve today. First off I want to say that I respect everyone I this hobby and everywhere I go I have been made to feel welcome. Brighton, Australia, Italy, everywhere, but today I ran into another Facebook person who is on my friends list, I tried to say hi, introduce myself and be cordial. This same person happened to show up in the same vendor space I was in looking at some rare Tom tit mascot accessories. There were about 20 or so nos ones in a case amongst other items. I cannot speak Italian so it was tough asking how much for one when this person showed up and emptied the entire case in front of me and then proceeded to try and barter a price using a translator. I repeatedly tried to ask for just one, but this person bought the entire pile right in front of me! Later in the day this same person walked into another stall and cleaned out most of the cases of high dollar rare accessories in front of an awestruck crowd dropping well over $10,000 at that stall alone! This went on all day. Im sure we will all see their bragging photos posted here on Facebook of piles of rare parts and cases of sought after accessories. While most of us are building a couple bikes and collecting a few pieces here and there, these people are systematically hoarding up everything they can buy without conscious. Im not bitter that I cant afford to do the same nor am I against the prices of these parts going up because of this type of behavior. Im mainly post off because when I introduced myself as someone that is on this persons friend feed, I politely asked if they would consider letting buy on of those twenty or so Tom tit mascots at a higher cost than they paid so I could have one for my bike. The reply was swift with a smile, sorry no. And they walked away... RUDE! I hope you never ask to buy anything I have posted for sale, EVER!
