Brooklyn, NY 0 friends 3 reviews 5.0 star rating 6/19/2014 My son told us to go to House of Dog in Miami. I looked online and Yelp posted absolutely awful reviews and kind of hid all the good reviews and didnt include them in the rating. Whats with Yelp?! We went there. Arrived at 11:40 and it closes at midnight. Left at 12:30 and it was still hopping, and customers were coming in. First thing, our waitress, Johanna, asked if wed been there before. Since we hadnt, she offered to explain the menu to us. She asked several times if everything was okay or if we wanted anything else. The cook and Mashgiach took time to speak to us as well. The Belgian fries were delicious! Time till we got our food and quality was fine. The place was clean. We ate outside at a table. Inside very funky atmosphere. The benches have cushions and are around different height long tables. Also one tall bar-like table. Theyre covered in antique ad replicas. The basic hotdog was $4.95 with some free toppings and lots of others, reasonably priced. There were easily as many non-Jews as Jews, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the food and drinks. Im wondering what on earth Yelp has against them?! Id rate the place as a 4. It isnt gourmet but its certainly okay. KASHRUS NOTE: If you want CHABAD SHECHITAH OR PAS YISROEL you MUST REQUEST IT when ordering. This is a very small place, and its backed up during winter break and pre/post Pesach (Passover). That doesnt make it deserve that you post only bad reviews and hide the good ones!
