Just got a email from a young fellow wanting to know, what skills he may have to lean to make a living out of being a charter boat Captain on a live aboard marlin Boat out of Cairns. I gave him just a couple of small tips. Mechanical engineer and technician Electrical engineer and technician Electronic engineer and technician Marine plumbing specialising in Blocked, electrosan, and TMQ products. Must be able to make any component on the vessel that has failed out of 040 wire, rubber bands, and cable ties. yes a magician. Chief, Marketing diploma. Oh and you should know all those things before you get your captains ticket and a marine engine drivers ticket !!!! It also helps if you can catch a fish over 1000lb in the first hour of having lines in the water, ( always expected ) Lean to function working up to 90 days straight 14 hours a day with sometimes little or no sleep. Have a little bit of ability with dealing with stress. Also helps if you have a set of eyes not only in front of your head but side and rear as well. Hope I did not turn him off in any way.
