Just got back from Victoria...the weather was perfect the food fabulous (Best butter chicken I have ever tasted at the sizzling Tandor)...but there was one little problem...we stayed at the Grand Pacific..a 4 Star hotel...our room was lovely, but as it turned out room 249 was directly over the hotels banquet room..It turns out there was a wedding reception on Saturday night that included a LOUD band...the floor shook, we could not talk over the noise. Wehn we went to the lobby, we were told the party would last until 12:30 am...But they offered us two tickets to the "Break Fast Buffet"..which consisted of cold pancakes (I kid you not..the butter would not melt) warm orange juice...& limp bacon! What a mess, and really bad coffee! The Canadians regretted our inconvenience...would we like a drink? Yikes....oh well we still had a good time...and managed to get by on 5 hours sleep!
