Just got home at 7:05. Left here at 6:30 AM and was at the hospital at 7:25. Had blood work done and it took 2 1/2 hours for the results. At 9:30 I had a catheter placed in the side of my neck for the machine to harvest through. Back at the stem cell unit at 11:30 and the harvesting began at 11:40. I was on the bed from then until 5:35 when they disconnected the machine. I wont know the amount of cells they were able to extract until I go in tomorrow, but I do know that I will be looking at another 6 hour session. The number of cells they need is 10 million, which is double the number needed for most other forms of cancer. Tomorrow may or may not reach the magic number but the nurses said tonight that they are very happy with the amount that was collected today. Am I tired? You bet..Am I sore? Extremely...Am I happy, yes, because I am not only close to the end of this ordeal, but I knew that my family and Facebook Army had me covered with prayers, positive thoughts and the Angels you sent were surrounding me all day....Its so good to be alive!!!
