Just read this , a lady ( not any of my friends) from Tenn posted : Were so blessed to live in America. Were attending a poverty dinner tonight at church: beans, potatoes, cornbread, and water. Our offering will help feed several families in ..... for the next couple of years. SMH Not condemning , but I think that church needs to open their eyes if they consider that a poverty meal. We have millions in America that live off of food like this. I know plenty of people here in our city that consider this a great meal, as a matter of fact my daddy just invited me to lunch. Guess what ? Its butter beans, potatoes and cornbread. ( thats not a poverty meal to us ). Another thing while I am venting lol you people that give food to food pantries, its means nothing when you give food that you intend to throw away for the less fortunate to eat. I have a dear friend that gets food from one of our food pantries here in this county. He is so kind and wants to share what he gets. He has brought me some stuff that needs to be in the trash but to him its food he didnt have. If youre going to give at least give something you would eat not something out of your freezer that needs to be thrown away. Praise God there are some who do give good food. If any of you want to give to a worthy cause, give to our food pantries. Dont worry about if these people are what you consider able to work. Outside appearance means nothing. These are a lot of senior citizens who do not draw enough SS to live on. God will bless a cheerful giver who gives from the heart not to be recognized. Will get off this soap box. ~edj~
