Just watched The Unsung Episode on Wilson Pickett. I feel honored to have met and recorded live with The Wicket Pickett at The Edmonton Folk Festival. He agreed to be a part of our live record singing the Eric Bibb song, Dont You Ever Let Nobody Drag Your Spirit Down. The band rehearsed the day before Mr. Pickett arrived. The singers were scheduled to meet him early that next morning. Linda told the band they did not have to come to the rehearsal just Eric and The CHC. Funny, everybody showed up and when Mr. Pickett walked in we all laid down on the floor, face down in reverence. He laughed at us and said in his gravely voice, Yall get up. But he was touched. The rehearsal went well. But on that stage we tore up that song. Heres, Dont Let Nobody Drag Your Spirit Down, featuring Linda Tillery & the Cultural Heritage Choir, Eric Bibb, Jon Sass and The Wicket Wilson Pickett.
