KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS.SYNDICATED, ENGLISH. 02 DECEMBER 2014  Rachel Arenas, raring to be Senator   LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…`Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus’…” (Luke 1:30-31, the Holy Bible).                                                             -ooo-             ROMAN CATHOLICS, THREE ANNUNCIATIONS: To our brothers and sisters from the Catholic Church, are you aware that there are three recorded instances in the Bible where the birth of Jesus, our God and Savior, was proclaimed and prophesied to happen? The first was made in Isaiah 7:14, and 9:6. The second was made in Luke 1:26-37, and the third was in Matthew 1:18-25. Read them, and enjoy Christmas 2014 better!                                                             -ooo-             RACHEL BABY ARENAS, RARING TO BE SENATOR: For former Pangasinan Rep. Rachel Baby Arenas, there is nothing more to prove as far as serving the public is concerned. While she performed extra-ordinarily well in helping her constituents in the third district of the province during her stint as a two-term-congresswoman, she did not rest on her laurels, so to speak, as she is continuing to serve Filipinos nationwide as an incumbent governor of the Philippine National Red Cross.             Rachel could very well take it easy now, because she has already contributed her share to nation-building as a legislator. But it would seem she is destined to discharge bigger responsibilities in the field of lawmaking and public service. This early, she is being considered and earnestly wooed by the country’s major political parties, to entice her to become one of their senatorial candidates.             Undeniably, the idea of Rachel being elected senator is titillating not only her supporters. She herself is getting to be enamored with the idea. In fact, she is now travelling to every nook and cranny of the whole Philippine archipelago, talking to people of all class and status, assessing her chances of winning should she decide to ultimately run.                                                             -ooo-             IDEAS FOR MAKING FILIPINOS SUCCESSFUL: Rachel, the only daughter of incumbent Pangasinan third district Rep. Rosemary Baby Arenas, a famous socialite, told me and Vic Somintac, my co-anchor in the Mondays to Fridays, 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. program, “Tambalang Batas at Somintac” at Radyo Agila’s DZEC, 1062 kHz, that her quest for a Senate seat depends on the outcome of her dialogue with Filipinos in places which she is visiting right now.             But even as she is bent on knowing the people’s sentiments on her possible Senate run, Rachel is already full of ideas that would really help Filipinos attain better lives through sustainable livelihood programs in the countryside. She said providing stable sources of revenue to less fortunate Filipinos has been her advocacy for the last 10 years.             In fact, Rachel told me and Vic, she has already coordinated with various public and private agencies to provide continuing training to various communities across the country, giving them technical knowhow and expertise that would enable them to earn decently. She is also bent on encouraging big companies and corporations to invest in towns and cities outside of Metro Manila to spur job creation among the youth.                                                             -ooo-             RACHEL ARENAS: MAKE RP COMPETITIVE: On top of that, Rachel is also into making sure that even companies from abroad would find investing in the Philippines hassle-free and profitable for them. It is for this reason that Rachel is using her background as a lawmaker and now as a governor of Red Cross to make sure that the Philippines is competitive, in terms of better infrastructure, better energy supply, and cooperative local government units.             Rachel is also interested in sharpening the skills of Filipinos who wish to go abroad to find better-paying jobs. She noted that even in Pangasinan, economic advancement seems evident among Pangasinenses who have worked, or are still working, abroad. Indeed, for a woman who is still single and who grew up in an environment of affluence, Rachel is exhibiting a lot of sense towards helping those who are poor and marginalized.                                                             -ooo- PLEASE LISTEN: “Tambalang Batas at Somintac”, jointly aired at DZEC, 1062 kHz in Manila, 1080 kHz in Dagupan City, 711 kHz in Naga City, 1260 kHz in Lucena City, 1224 kHz in Davao City, and at eaglebroadcasting.net, Mondays to Fridays, at 6 a.m.; “Kakampi Mo Ang Batas”, at 103.7 mHz in Don Carlos, Bukidnon, Mondays to Fridays, at 7 a.m.; “Kakampi Mo Ang Batas” at 801 kHz on the AM band (Panay Island), Mondays to Fridays, at 10 a.m.; and “Kakampi Mo Ang Batas” at 107.5 Win FM, Roxas, Isabela (Saturday, 5:30 a.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m.).
