Kabogo IN TROUBLE, he is ordered to surrender title Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has been ordered to surrender in court, a title deed of a parcel of land he bought from the family of the late Mbiyu Koinange. Mr Justice William Musyoka directed Mr Kabogo to bring to the High Court within seven days the title for the 300 acres he bought in Muthera Farm, Mau Narok, Nakuru County. He paid more than over Sh200 million for the property. Justice Musyoka directed Mr Kabogo to deliver the title to the court pending the determination of a dispute of the subdivision of the vast estate of the powerful minister in Mzee Kenyatta’s government. Lawyer Lumumba Nyaberi, for one of the beneficiaries, urged the judge to order the buyer (Mr Kabogo) to surrender the title to the court since there was an order by deputy Chief Justice Kalpana Rawal to preserve the status quo of the land pending the determination of the 32 year-old succession case. The Koinange estate valued at over Sh3 billion has been at the centre of a bitter dispute between the deceased’s widows and his children. The estate comprises land in Nairobi, Kiambu, Nakuru and Coast. His first-born son David Njuno Mbiyu, 71, told Justice Musyoka that the sale of the farm through lawyers Waweru Gatonye and J.M. Njagi was contested. “I urge this court to recall all the titles in respect to this farm for cancellation,” Mr Mbiyu told the judge. He also claimed that the same farm (4,296 acres) had been invaded by some pastoralists who had refused to vacate the property. “As a result of the invasion, Ms Eddah Wanjiru Mbiyu and I have been arrested and charged with the death of Maasai rights crusaders Moses ole Mpoe and Parsaaiya ole Kitu.” Mr Mbiyu told the court.
