Kashmir News: Protests Also Rocks In Pakistan Yesterday Against Ramban Innocent Killings And condemns ‘desecration’ of Quran. Pakistan Friday expressed its serious concern over the alleged desecration of Holy Quran in Kashmir. Speaking at his weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Friday‚ Foreign OfficeSpokesperson Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry said this incident has hurt the sentiments of the people of Pakistan as well as the entire Muslim world. He said the Indian government has expressedits intention to carry out investigation into thesacrilegiousact. “We hope the probe will be held expeditiously andthose involved in the act will be brought to justice,” he said. When asked about the revelations made by a former Indian official that New Delhi had planned Mumbai and parliament attacks‚ the Foreign Office spokesperson said that Islamabad had asked its high commission in New Delhi to approachthe Indian government to ascertain the veracity of the report attributed to a former Indian official Satish Verma. He said accordingto the preliminary response‚ India has denied that any such statement has been made by Verma.“We‚ however‚ would ask India to give more details in this regard.” On the start of backdoor channels with India‚ the spokesperson said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has appointed a former senior diplomat Shahryar Khan to conduct track-II diplomacy. The designated ambassador has visited India and expressed the strong desire of Pakistani leadership for having good neighborly relations. He said Pakistan wants resumption of formal composite talks with India to address mistrust. ABI.
