Kia ora Whanau... The past week ive been helping out with a wedding function.. Maori Bride marrying a Tongan Groom, both strong mormon.. Was my first experience of 2 combined cultures celebrating a special occasion! So i got talking to a tongan brother and he sez: Maori girls are beautiful as bro, that they cook mean kai and that the boys were really keen to catch them a maori girl and become a part of the tangata whenual! It was very flattering, as a Maori to hear our wahine appreciated, praised and regarded so highly from another culture! So it got me thinking: I suppose there are only so many Maori wahine out there worldwide, so to any brothers who have the pleasure of having one of the few in their lives, take care of them best you know how! Wahine or Tane,(maori or non maori) letus know how you give and receive appreciation from one another.. Heres one to start: I run a bath and i add some kawakawa leaves some fragrant putiputi (jasmine) and a coconut hinu, after having soaked in that potion, you,d be hard pressed not to see your partner smiling :) Kia ora #wiri
