Kingdom Connection Valley Brook Baptist Church Thursday; October 30, 2014 Dr. John Guns Notes from service: Appetizer- Its Coming! Youre close than you think. John 16 God is tired of watching you struggle and not enjoy all of your life. Its time to see the joy after the weeping and be able to answer truthfully when youre asked how youre doing. You ARE blessed and highly favored. Message: Its As Simple As That! John 2:7 Servants were asked to fill the pots, not disciples. Proverbs 3:7 (Obey; stop doing wrong) This is the era of smart phones and the body expects to hear a deep word. We complicate everything in our lives. Relationships, church business, outer appearance, the bible... The bible says what is says and He means it. (if it aint God, it doesnt count!) Youre stressed out because you trying to fix everything. Its simple: Just do what He says!!!!! The frustration: Life left, but not enough resources to live. (Party still going; no wine left.) Mary gets a chance to prove that she is who she says she is: the mother of Jesus by immaculate conception. The only ones who knew what happen with the water were the servants (They saw because they obeyed) We will know more of God when we obey him. Our disobedience locks God into God. Illustration- Dr. G and his daughter: she had a problem with her phone, but couldnt get the company to do anything without her Dads authorization. So, she called her Dad! He authorized and paid for her problem to be fixed. (This is what God wants us to do; call and rely on Him. He will then fix the problem and foot the bill!) Water was used for cleansing; there is a chance that the water was filthy. Only God can take filthy water and turn it into top shelf wine! (Much like he took our filthy souls and made us white as snow!) Good wine is aged - takes time The process is long when we dont do what he says. Obedience speeds up the process! Your issue is a water to wine issue; you can no longer wait for the wine to mature (You need God to work out your situation now!) Youre so skeptical and you never move because of the need for a confirmation. Pray to hear the answer; fast to get flesh out of the way! #wow Its time to live right! The Holy Ghost help us to do so. More frustration: youre trying to make the wine because youre a micromanager and you want to handle the details instead of trusting God for the outcome! The End: You pour water; Hell make wine! Im a water-pourer!!!!! I obey and do what God says to do!
