L-Spine w/o Contrast - 10/27/2014 9:00 PM INDICATION: Low back pain that migrates to the left foot. COMPARISON: Lumbar spine radiographs 10/27/2014. TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar, multisequence routine noncontrast MRI of the lumbar spine is performed. FINDINGS: The conus terminates at the lower aspect of L1 vertebral body. L5 vertebral body demonstrates two round lesions of increased T1/T2 signal of which the largest measures 2 cm. This can be seen with small hemangiomas. L4 vertebral body demonstrates a subcentimeter round lesion of T1/T2 signal that can be seen with a small hemangioma. The lumbar vertebral segments are of normal stature and alignment. There is a Schmorls node at the superior endplate of L1. At L4-5, there is a small broad-based disc osteophyte complex. There is narrowing of the lateral recesses. The central canal and neural foramen are patent. At L5-S1, there is a central disc herniation with minimal inferior migration. There is mild effacement of the anterior thecal sac. There is mild narrowing of the lateral recesses, greater on left than right. The central canal and the neural foramen are patent. At L1-2, L2-3, and L3-4, there is no significant central canal or neural foraminal narrowing. IMPRESSION: 1. At L5-S1, there is a small central disc herniation with mild inferior migration. There is resultant narrowing of the lateral recesses, greater on left than right. There is no significant central canal or neural foraminal narrowing at this level. 2. At L4-5, there is mild narrowing of the lateral recesses on a degenerative basis. ********** FINAL REPORT ********** Dictated By: Massin DO , Christopher 10/27/2014 23:09 Assigned Physician: Massin DO , Christopher Reviewed and Electronically Signed By: Massin DO , Christopher 10/28/2014 18:55 Transcribed by: KA 10/28/2014 05:10 Technologist: SC
