LARGELY PEACEFUL ANTI MARTELLY-PAUL MARCH MARRED BY HOOLIGANISM 2015 January 22, 18:43 (Thursday) Supporters of the De Facto Prime Minister Evans Paul infiltrated the march to make, specially, Lavalas appear as if it condoned violence. It is Paul’s intention to intimidate the political parties that are demanding President Martelly’s resignation and terrorize the electorate. MOPOD, Moleghaf, OTAN, Plate-forme Pitit Dessalines, and Lavalas had duly requested permission for the rally and coordinated security with PNH. It’s plausible that Paul encouraged irresponsible behavior or condones it. His reaction to the incident is insufficient, and his political opponents predictably seized an opportunity to extract maximum political advantage. Many Haitians believe Paul is prone to violence and are willing to believe the worst accusations against him. As a De Facto Prime Minister, Paul must be forthright in quickly and forcefully condemning any violence associated with his government. - The Intercept - First Look Media
