LATEST FORECAST DISCUSSION: Another Arctic blast has arrived in the Mid Atlantic and it will keep everyone shivering for at least the next 2 days. The bitter cold air has made it all the way to the Gulf Coast. Winter storm warnings down South extend from New Orleans to Atlanta to the Outer Banks of North Carolina and the lower parts of the Eastern Shore. There are no advisories for the NBC4 viewing area at this time. A wave of low pressure will travel across the South today and the become a strengthening Ocean storm tonight and Wednesday. As of now, the forecasted track of the storm will keep it, and the chances for accumulating snow, away from the DC Metro. The best chance for getting 1” of snow in our area will be across Southern Maryland – mainly Southern Saint Mary’s County. There could be snow flurries that leave a light coating of snow as far North as the Waldorf/LaPlata areas. No major travel impacts are expected with this storm but we will be keeping a close eye on things and we will update this page the minute anything chances. Otherwise, the bitter cold will relax on Thursday and a milder pattern is shaping up for the weekend. Highs on Saturday and Sunday should be well into the 40s but with plenty of clouds around and a chance for rain showers on Sunday. In the meantime – stay warm. TUESDAY: Wind: Northwest 10-20 mph Temperatures: 17° - 22° TUESDAY NIGHT: Mostly Cloudy Chance Of Light Snow Overnight In Southern Maryland Wind: North 5-15 mph LOWS: 8°- 13° WEDNESDAY: Mostly Sunny HIGHS: 22°- 27°
