LETTER OF PROTEST by NIGERIAN STUDENTS! (Submitted by Daniel Dk) Students are frustrated by the ongoing ASUP & COEASU strike! Ive learnt to always live in fairness and be just, giving no or little room for compromise. For long, I have wished the table was set properly before serving and calling people to eat on it. It is unhygienic to call people to eat on a table which is dirty, rough and unkempt. No matter how delicious the meal could be, it can never serve the same purpose. The above preempt my writing based on the continual protraction of the ASUP & COEASU Strike. Before I further progress on the subject matter, permit me to iterate that strike has never been the only stiffer method to compel public office holders to adhere to a group needs globally. There are always other window(s) to pass any grievances like using the power of the law (just the way the former CBN Governor did). Our government will continually to be insensitive to the plights of a common group or citizens because their characters for holding such public offices are questionable under the Federal Character Law but who will hold them accounted? Until our government becomes sensitive then will strike be seen as effective! When a particular approach becomes so fatigue, then it is useless forcing it to be responsive. Having said that, it is IMPOSSIBLE to win a battle when your warriors fight against you. Wont that be a give-away victory for your enemy? A broom becomes harder to break than when it is broomstick. Now, isnt it better you get your home prepared to received visitors than receiving them in many absence? All fingers are pointing to the same thing yet you are blind to notice the obvious and recuperate for further battle. What mockery it has drafted before your oppressor! Personally, I would have no issues if the strike lasts for 18months or more if All Federal and some state polytechnics had joined in the struggle. Thats our frustration!!!
