LETTER TO MY BROTHER. some men are born great, some attained greatness, while others have greatness bestowed on them. -Abraham lincoln brother, as it is in you so it is in me, deep down the depth of every mans heart lies the desire to be great. brother, Life has taught me something and it is pertinent to intimate you about it. there are great men from ages, BC to AD, 00 to 2000, talk of Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, Abraham Lincoln,A.V dicey,Lord Denning etc, they excelled in their different fields and unarguably, posterity will never forget them. My dearest brother, my aim of writing you this piece is not to start getting you bored with my worst life experiences but to teach you what life has taught me, for our people the IGBOS would say that what an elderly man will sit down and see that a boy will not see even if he climbs an IROKO tree. Brother, one thing to note about those great men i mentioned earlier is that they were men of dilligence, so it means that if you must be great, you must work hard and be thorough. in school, listen and learn from your teachers even if they are the nasty types for even the worst man has atleast an atom of goodness in him, moreso, try not imitate others for no one can be perfect imitating others- that has been the watchword of GREAT men. Remember also not to be proud in your dealings with your fellow men, pride they say goeth before fall. again you never can tell if you will meet those men you met on your way up on your way down. Dear brother, i implore you to try and always remember the popular saying of our father the three easiest things that can ruin a man are WOMEN, ALCHOHOL and POWER. remember my kid brother, that i never said you shouldnt love for that is the true basis of human existence. so also have i not implied that you shouldnt drink for even the bible says drink so as to forget your sorrows. saint paul also wrote in one of his epistles take a bit of wine for your stomach Neither have i said you shouldnt look for power, but note that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Finally, in your quest for greatness remember to place God first in all your dealings for it is only a fool that says there is no God. For he is the giver of greatness.
