LIGHTNING STRIKES & KILLS 5 GOATS! Kathungi,Katulani-Kitui Solemn mood engulfed the residents of Kitambaa Village of Kathungi location in Kitui after lightning struck & killed 5 goats & burnt down a grassy-thatched house. The incident left the family members in shock & by the time i visited their home they were still trying to come to terms with the untimely loss. According to the home-owner,Priscila Mwambui,whom i spoke to,its drizzling when the occured and the children and me had just left the this kitchen for our main living house,she said. We first saw a bright flash of light before the lightning struck in a loud thud.When we came out we my kitchen was ablaze and my 5 goats were already dead & there was nothing to do help than shout for neighbours help who oncoming were helpless too! Added the shocked Priscila. According to area subchief,Cosmus Katemu,who had toured the scene,said there is need to erect lightning arresters so as to avoid such dangers of lossing either life or properties.
