LOCAL HERO, the Bill Forsyth film with a sublime Mark Knopfler soundtrack is being screened on Saturday 8th Nov at 7pm in Borris Hall as part of the Blackstairs Rural Film Festival. The film tells the story of an American oil company who send a man to Scotland to buy up an entire village where they plan to build an oil refinery. Needless to say, things dont go according to plan. The film will steal your heart with beautiful scenery, the evocative Knopfler soundtrack and great performances from a young Peter Capaldi (The Thick of It), Burt Lancaster and Denis Lawson.
