LOVING RahLeeCoh: EPISODE #1 Last night I had a strange dream. I found myself wandering around in a Police Station. No one seemed to care that I was using a cane, and everyone had the attitude that all non officers in the station were guilty suspects. I passed a window to a room full of cadets, and thought I recognized someone; I backed up to get a closer look! When I did this a cute petite female officer admonished me; she told me that I needed to mind my business and keep moving. She kept on through a door and I was intrigued by her spirit; I liked her and I couldnt help myself, I followed her through that door. I dont know why and I didnt remember why I was in the station in the first place. Inside the large room off that central hallway, I was confronted by another female officer who wasnt as kind or attractive to me. She wanted to know what I was looking for and if I knew that I was in a restricted area. She asked me for my I.D. And I presented her with a photo copy of a reduced not too professional photograph of my original Drivers License, with a weird explanation of how and where I got that I.D.! As a crowd of officers were milling around us now, she made a joke out of my situation and turned to walk away, after telling me to get myself out of that building and to go to an adjacent edifice to get a correct copy of my license. Before getting too far, she wheeled back around and told me to bring her back three donuts from that building. It struck me that she didnt give me any money, but I did have some, so I decided not to say anything and agreed to return with the donuts as the officers standing and sitting around thought that was funny and started to laugh! I didnt care because secretly I wanted to see that first Lady Cop again, but I didnt know why. Before I left the building though, I dropped my cell phone, and before I could pick it up, one of my blood brothers came in mysteriously, and as he kicked my phone too hard, he said “whose phone is this?” He continued on with a grin, as I picked the phone up and had to toss it, thinking: “well, at least I wont have those “bee killing” waves next to my brain any longer!” Meanwhile, I misplaced my cane in the excitement! When I got to the other building, I realized that I didnt have my walker or my cane; I mentioned this to a few other suspects (or at least brothers treated as though they were, and dont ask how I knew this!). One mentioned that there were some “staff” looking sticks in the basement of that building and he said that he would retrieve one for me. As he did not return straight away, I decided to go on in and down to the area he said they were located. When I began milling around in the basement looking through the selection of sticks to find a suitable one for my needs, I was immediately accosted by several police officers who wanted to know what I thought I was doing. They took me into a side room with no window on the door and began interrogating me. As it turned out, the “friendly” brother suspect who appeared so helpful had actually reported me and warned the officers that I was coming! They talked to me in a very disrespectful and “janky” manner and I had to be careful of my responses. They believed my story about being asked by previous officers to get a corrected copy of my I.D. and returning with donuts, but instructed me to get myself out of that basement area and not to come back. As soon as I stuck my head out of the door to their little interrogation room with the long counter and a few chairs, it immediately dawned on me that I am now “Loving RahLeeCoh” and I should not be engaged in trading insults and “janky” responses, so I backed right back, sticking my head back into the door, a dangerous thing to do after having escaped a scary situation, where one word could be interpreted as disrespecting an officers authority and resulting in a beat down, but there I was thinking: “well these are all Black Officers and I really have not seen a gang of big burly brothers pulling back arms in positions they arent meant to be in, jabbing batons into backs and sides, and putting all their body weight onto their “suspects” and “perps” necks, and choking them to death in any of the internet videos.” So, I decided to say my loving peace...words that surprised even me! I said: “I just want to thank you beautiful brothers for protecting us and keeping us safe and looking out for our rights as citizens, and to let you know that we love you for doing such a great job serving the public interest and maintaining peace and love in the community!” As I hurried quickly back through the doorway--quickly so as to thwart any after thoughts about putting a choke hold on me, I realized two things: I didnt need my cane as I had walked all through both buildings without it; and I didnt find out how the officers responded to my gesture of love, because I woke up without donuts or meetings back with cute Black female police officers! If any of my FB Friends can interpret this dream please do so for me! Baba RahLeeCoh Ishakarah 8/30/2014
