Lady chef loses RM6,700 to Facebook ‘friend’ from Liverpool Posted on November 15, 2013, Friday KUCHING: A lady chef from Kota Samarahan is the latest victim of the Internet scam when she lost about RM6,700 to a ‘friend’ she befriended through Facebook. The 41-year-old woman was said to have received a parcel from the ‘friend’ from Liverpool. Similarly as in any Internet scam tactic, the parcel was said to be ‘stuck’ at the Immigration Department at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. She was told that it required her to make a payment amounting to RM1,850 to retrieve the goods, and unsuspectingly, she made the payment.
