Last Friday I had an amazing sensory experience when I joined a group of beer enthusiasts and shared a few brews! The lighter side! 1- Framboise (Boon Brewery, Belgium) - Fruit lambic 5.5%abv - delicate raspberry aroma, slight tartness. Light and refreshing!! 2- Daisy Cutter (Half Acre, Illinois) - American Pale Ale 5.20% - fresh pine and citrusy aroma with hints of tropical fruit. Bitter finish. So tasty!! Picking up on strength! 3- Houbloneè (Lake Effects Brewing, Illinois) - Wild Wheat IPA 7.5%abv - cloudy with citrus, grapes and brett aroma. Hoppy with some sourness. 4- Chub Step (Half Acre Brewery, Illinois) - American Porter 6%abv - lasting tan head, roasted coffee, milk chocolate aroma. Bitter chocolate and coffee flavors. Nice brew! Booze bombs! 5- Corporate Guy (Spiteful Brewing, Illinois) - Wheat wine 11%abv - wheat, caramel with candied orange peel notes. Sweet, sirupy and boozy! 6- Theophan The Recluse (Three Taverns Craft Brewery, Georgia) - Russian Imperial Stout 9%abv - dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar with hints of raisins and dark cherry. Quite enjoyable! 7- Even More Jesus (Evil Twin Brewery, Denmark) - Imperial Stout 12%abv - pitch black with a dark tan head. Dark cocoa, roasted coffee, dark fruits, vanilla and a bit of bourbon are present. Delightful!!! 8- Class of 88 (North Coast Brewery, California/in collaboration with Rogues and Deschuttes, Oregon) - Barley wine 10%abv - caramel, citrus, candied orange and honey. Bitter finish. Well balanced!! 9- Fruet (The Bruery, California) - Old Ale 15.50%abv - dark fruits (raisins, plums, dark cherry), molasses, bourbon and vanilla. Full bodied and boozy. Like sipping a port! 10- Brettish Bulldog (Against The Grain, Kentuky) - Old Ale 8.20%abv - loved the brett aroma. Caramel, raisins, figs and brown sugar with a perfect sour punch!
