Last week, a group of human rights lawyers filed a motion to vacate the sentence of Hamid Hayat, a young Pakistani-American who was convicted in 2007 of planning terrorist attacks on the United States. They say that Hayat was railroaded by overzealous prosecutors, that the US government suppressed evidence of his innocence and that his case was damaged by an inexperienced defense attorney - and that hes spent 9 years in prison for a crime he didnt commit.
