Providing details of the death of a student due to caffeine, WKYC-TV Cleveland (10/23, 71K) reports Logan Stiner died after consuming concentrated caffeine in May. The piece notes that the Lorain County Coroner “thought it must have been natural causes, until the family found a small bag of a white powdered substance at home,” which turned out to be “pure caffeine.” According to the piece, “an autopsy showed Logan had 23 times the normal amount in his system, enough to be deadly.” The article also notes that Logan’s family is planning to meet with FDA officials in December in a bid to ban the product.
