Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant - TopicsExpress

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices. (2 Corinthians 2:11 KJV) Scripture teaches us that we do not walk in darkness but we are the children of the light. We are not of those that wander about in uncertainty. We know where we have come from, we know where we are at present, and we know where we are going. This knowledge gives us an incentive to press forward. We can usually tell what someone is going to do by looking at their past track record. If the football quarterback receives the snap, drops back and rolls to the right to pass every time he calls that particular passing play.... mark it down - hes gonna roll to the right. A defensive player would be wise to position himself in that spot in order to make a tackle behind the line of scrimmage. We likewise as Spirit filled believers, are not ignorant of the Devils devices. He is going to pretty much do the same thing. In police work I think thats what they call an M O (Modus Operandi). Jesus said if we would have known what time the thief would have come....we would have stayed up and caught him. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.(Romans 8:26 KJV) God, the Holy Ghost, is going to give us a heads up. Not only will we pray concerning the attack that is coming but we will be positioned in the best possible spiritual posture to resist and overcome the Devils plot against us. If theres chocolate candy on the table and every time I eat until Im sick.... I can change the outcome of that scenario by either removing the candy or not going near the table. Thank you Father, that we are bought with the price. We are children of the light, children of revelation. You have given us spiritual eyes and discernment. Help us to go into every situation with eyes open, soberly, and vigilant. When we know there is danger in our path, we can change the direction we are going and avoid it. Grant us that grace today, in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
