Lets face it, whether a come on is considered creepy or charming - TopicsExpress

Lets face it, whether a come on is considered creepy or charming has far more to do with how cute you think the person is than what they are actually doing/saying. That weird guy who friended you on Facebook and said he liked you and left flowers on your door, that guy you call a creeper, if he looked like Ryan Gosling then those same actions would be the romantic story of how you met. And guys, that girl who is kinda awkward and quiet and seems to lack confidence or seems fragile, if she looked like a swim suit model youd be singing her songs to tell her how much more amazing she is than she knows. Now Im not trying to say looks dont matter, I mean were human right, so of course they do. But, I have chosen to take any earnest and well intended communication of affection, even if its from someone I dont feel the same way about, as a brave and beautiful thing, and to take it as an enormous compliment and not something to be mocked or undermined. I mean you only live once right? And it takes a certain amount of courage to rise above the cacophony of stylish indifference and cynicism and decide youd rather be rejected than have that person live not knowing you liked them. As a former awkward, nervous, unlucky in love high schooler, how could I disrespect that? Thats not to say creepers dont exist, just be more cautious with that judgement, and ask yourself if youd be calling that person a creeper if they did the same things but were also exactly your type.
