Lets talk about the two different forms of oppression. The first is the bad one: it means to keep (someone) in subservience and hardship, especially by the unjust exercise of authority. The second one is solely feels based: it means to cause (someone) to feel distressed, anxious, or uncomfortable. In the case of the second definition, theres a choice involved. You can claim victimization or reject it. The whole privilege checking mentality works off the second definition, positing others limit themselves due to someone elses emotions. People make other people feel uncomfortable, anxious, and distressed every day just by disagreeing with them and saying it. That doesnt equate putting them in hardship or subservience at all.
