Liberals, right-wingers, fascists, leftists, anti-imperialists, pro-westerners, progressives, secularists, the middle and upper classes, all have become the strangest of bedfellows united against the perceived “terrorist” threat. The kind of justification provided to support this renewed War on Terrorism has become so sophisticated and credible that the most atrocious acts of regional governments have become immune from criticism.
