Life as a/with a quad is sometimes very hard. The body no longer - TopicsExpress

Life as a/with a quad is sometimes very hard. The body no longer works the way it did preinjury due to the lack of communication between the brain and spinal cord. This lack make treating normal illnesses more difficult. You may be thinking UTI, no big deal but for Tyler it is a huge deal. Yesterday his blood pressure (BP) dropped dangerously low to the point where he was passing out and throwing up. The hospital put in a central line to administer blood pressure meds (pressors). Ty was stable last night so they tried to discontinue the pressors but his BP would drop off again. We will try and dc the pressors again today and see how he responds. Sepsis is DANGEROUS. Low BP, pressors and lines ARE NOT good so prayers are needed!! We need his bladder to function like mine and yours does. Stem cells will help that A LOT! We are anxious to get him well and get to Cyprus! Every time you use the restroom today normally be thankful! I appreciate all of your thoughts, prayers and support. Much love, Pam
