Life is interesting in the world of indie toy stores. Banks - TopicsExpress

Life is interesting in the world of indie toy stores. Banks stopped lending money back during the great recession and havent yet opened up the purse strings. Some stores have had to search for new funding sources. A fellow toy store owner on the west coast is trying something unique to raise the cash to expand her business and bring in new lines like LEGO. She is doing a Crowd-Tilt. Through crowd-tilt she has to raise a certain amount in donations by her deadline to get any money at all. Just to be clear, Im not asking you to donate to her, to me, or to anyone else. I just find this process fascinating. Grass-roots efforts and shop-local movements and crowd-funding takes the power away from the big guys and puts it in the hands of you and me. I am secretly, no, wait, openly hoping she reaches her goals. Every indie toy store that gets better makes our store better. If you want to get involved, the best thing you can do is shop local and convince your friends to shop local, too. If you want to help out a fellow toy store owner on the same mission as Toy House, you can check out this link... https://hopscotchtoys.tilt/hopscotch-toys-4-ever
