Live from Egypt: tens injured in Cairo Tensions rising in Egypt: thousands of supporters of the dismissed president Morsi are protesting in Cairo against plans to put him on trial. Thousands are protesting in favor of the new regime. Jul 26, 2013, 05:28PM | Ainav Weisberg Tens of thousands of protesters in the streets – and tensions in Egypt are rising: Thousands of protesters are flooding the Egyptian capitol’s streets and those of the Dimyat district in the north of the country, making their way to the giant protests – one of which is in support of Morsi and against the military regime, and the other against him and in favor of the interim government. Tens injured in riots in Cairo and the northern district. Protesters are rushing to Tahrir Square in Cairo in order to protest Morsi and support the government. The protesters are arriving under General Asisi’s orders, after he asked the public to come out in support of the interim government and support the actions being taken against Morsi and other Muslim Brothers elite. Opposite them, thousands of Morsi’s supporters are also streaming into the streets. Tens of thousands of them are standing in a different area of Cairo, carrying posters of the dismissed president calling out against the legal actions that he is expected to face. Morsi will be accused of murder and collaboration with Hamas Earlier today the official information agency in Egypt published news that the dismissed president is set to face a series of charges – amongst them the murder of prisoners and members of the country’s defense forces. Morsi will face another accusation that accuses him for being in illegal contact with Hamas elements in 2011. According to the attorney general, Morsi has already been question on the subject and has been confronted with the evidence that is basis for the claims against him.
