Lok Sabha Elections and Kashmir: UPA being wiped out at national - TopicsExpress

Lok Sabha Elections and Kashmir: UPA being wiped out at national level speaks of the strong hatred developed among voters against the rot of corruption, inflation, incompetence and uncertainty incubated by its rulers while as their scions in JK didn’t rule differently that resulted into whitewash to National Conference. History is witness to the fact that Congress always played dual but antagonistic role as it has been using communal disharmony as the raw material and interestingly breathed on minority votes throughout India. Nobody can ignore the ugly Gujarat riots but most of the inter-faith clashes, right from Independence era, took place during Congress rule. It could not clear the way for newly invented parties like AAP rather its traditional rival came to the forefront because of the latter’s less harsher experiments with the common masses as compared to that of the went by regime. The good thing is that a well read and disciplined gentleman (read Manmohan Singh) will no longer have to undergo rehearsal for narrating dictated speeches in media/public. For J&K, the 2k14 Lok Sabha election results are not much important except justifying the proverbial saying “coming events cause their shadows before”. The real tug will begin in the forthcoming LA Elections. The losers might focus their attention first in removing the top layer of hatred by using politico-emotional tactics in order to appease NOTA and Boycott section of the populace leaving behind the easily mouldable segment! It is also obvious what the NC is to UPA, same is true for PDP vs. NDA. Loyalties are, however, conditional. With respect to Kashmir issue, the strategies and political trajectories differ to a great extent albeit ‘integral part’ phrase which is common to both but translated differently on this side of Pir Panjal. Before political freedom, the grievances of the electorate here need to be redressed under the famous slogan - F.R.E.E: Find, Rescue, Embrace and Empower. It might pave the way for a long lasting solution to the K-issue. Now, whether newly born Modi Government shall resume the political exercise (vis-a-vis Kashmir) from the Vajpayee launch pad or else will start afresh with some ‘novel’ idea, remains to be seen. The cast is already over, the real show has begun; watch carefully till next elections! Abdul Hamid Mir Email: aquariusdew@yahoo
