Looks like it is just Rita and I at the barrel races until next spring (unless she sells :/) Hitch does not have navicular, still remains sore on the left due to incorrect shoeing job. Xrays revealed splint fracture looks more like a stress fracture (which is very sore to touch). Still very sore in the deep tendon. 3 or 4 moderate things adding up to equal a lot of pain. Time off and 3 to 4 corrective shoeing jobs to let him heal. I asked about leaving shoes off and keeping him trimmed, but Dr. Letner feels like he will heal faster if we elevate him and take pressure off those tendons, at least for a few months. So thats the verdict, nothing career ending or permanent. So my prayers, or at least that one (which seems so insignificant to a few other prayer requests I have every day) have been answered. Thank goodness for Dr. Letner and his knowledge and thoroughness! Him and his wife are awesome!!
