Lost in the growls of partisan face-offs is the fact that an estimated 1.2 million undocumented immigrants are Asian, the fastest growing racial and immigrant group in the U.S. Or that at least 300,000 undocumented immigrants came from Europe, like Michaela Graham, who was born in Germany, but has called the U.S. her home for decades. Many come from the Caribbean and Africa, like Aly Wane, who came to the U.S. from Dakar, Senegal, at the age of eight. You’d think immigration solely concerned Latinos given the media coverage.
