STOMP FOR INNOVATION BBQ & BARN DANCE features Wild West fun and entertainment including: ● Live music by Monte Mills and The Lucky Horseshoe Band, an iconic local band, with some western dance lessons to get the party started ● BBQ dinner provided by two of our outstanding local restaurants, Ribline and Alphy’s Broiler ● Watering hole pouring selections from local wineries and beer from TapIt Brewery ● Cake Walk & Dessert Auction ● Wild West photo booth get your picture taken in western garb in front of a lifesize replica of a bison. New Tech students will print these as “Wanted” photos and the bison will be raffled off at the end of the evening. ● Auction and Raffles The foundation was established in the fall of 2010 by community volunteers to raise money to support innovative programs that help students learn the 21st century skills they need to thrive in college and careers. Central Coast New Tech High was LMFI’s first grant recipient, thanks to a large gift from Pacific Gas & Electric. LMFI has also donated $152,450 to Grover Beach Elementary School, which is working to become an International Baccalaureate school, and LMFI distributed technology grants to 7 other schools including AGHS, Paulding, Oceanview Elementary and Nipomo Elementary. LMFI supports the Summer Institute of Learning, where teachers can learn from each other as well as share best practices from programs that work. LMFI’s goal is that every program they invest in shares their best practices with the entire school district so that every student benefits. Finally, LMFI has two new initiatives in the areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) and the Arts. We would greatly appreciate your support by attending STOMP FOR INNOVATION. Tickets are $35 per person, or you can reserve your own table for 8 for $300. Other ways you can support LMFI is by donating an item to the silent auction or dessert auction and/or making a financial contribution. If you already have a commitment on 5/17, consider purchasing tickets to donate to friends or teachers, asking your employer to purchase a table, and spreading the word about the event through Facebook and Twitter. (Stomp for Innovation has an event page on Facebook). Tickets can be purchased online through Eventbrite or visit thefoundationforinnovation.org. If you would like to save the small Eventbrite fee, you can contact Raquel at CCNTH, 4743350. Thanks, Sharon McDaniel LMFI Board member and CCNTH parent
