MAMBOLO DESCENDANT ASSOCIATION CALL ON TRADE MINISTER TO HELP BOOST TRADE IN THE CHIEFDOM. Paramount Chief Bai Shebureh N Lion 2, KEY NOTE ADDRESS: Thanks to God who in his Mightiness and willingness make it possible for the Hon. Minister of Trade and Industry to be in our mist. He is our brother and he is not a stranger in this country and District. Please note that this is not the first time we have hosted the Minister in this District. He has done a lot for the people of this District including the building of schools and Rice-mill in Mando. He did this good things when he was not a politician. Sir, we would have love to give you an outstanding welcome had it not be for the school sports today at our only Senior Secondary School in The District. Minister one of my laudable achievement here in my chiefdom is to bring various stakeholders together to work as one in the interest of the Chiefdom. Our toughest challenges in this District are: lack of capital for traders, no rice mill for farmers and a well establish Trading Center. We agree that Usman Boie Kamara is a decedent of this place and we encourage all to partner with him well in the name of development. Please note that The Miister has good thinking for his people. We have scores of Ministers in Freetown but none of them has the good feeling to tour round the country and ascertain the conditions of their people. Please dont smear his visit by using inappropriate adjectives towards his visit that will result to odd feelings. We need help in the District, if anyone is here that doesnt need help, let him stay away rather than using bad words that will destroy the good things we need for this District. We encourage The Minister wholeheartedly. Am not a politician, but in most cases people drive away good things via their negative words against people in central positions of trust. Minister, things are difficult for my people here simply because business is not moving in the District. And where there is no business, getting money in such places is almost an impossible thing. Its worth to note here that majority of the members of this organisation earn their living through petty trading activities. MINISTER OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY ALHAJI USMAN BOIE KAMARA, REACTION TO THE REQUEST. We are happy to be here and I would like to register my apology for being late. Like any other country, we have people who dont mean good for this country. So when they see others pushing on progressively, they try to destroy them. But the hard and uncomfortable truth is we must ignore them and concentrate in our good work. That is the only way we can forge ahead as a strong nation and people. Please lets not forget that we owe it to them, to teach them how to be good and share the good practice with others. As the Paramount Chief say am not a stranger in this Chiefdom. He is my brother, though he has prescribe some tough challenges you face in the Chiefdom. We shall look in to them ad find ways to tackle them. I must caution here that these challenges are not going to be immediately addressed; as i hate making promises. This chiefdom is a historic chiefdom and God has done it for you by giving you a Paramount Chief that like his people. If someone has good intention for you and you are a decent man, you will respond in a like manner. We want to make this District a major agricultural region, by so doing we will push hunger far off the District. Look how fertile the land is for agriculture. I will invite the Paramount Chief and we shall work on modalities to jointly address the issues raised. Am assuring you that I will never disappoint you.
