MEDIA RELEASE ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Tuesday, July 08, 2014: The National Stadium has been declared as the venue for Spicemas 2014. The Spicemas Corporation has been given the green light to proceed with its plans for the major shows for the season at the venue. The announcement was made by The Minister of Economic Development Hon. Oliver Joseph during the weekly cabinet briefing this morning. The Minister indicated that the government in conjunction with the WICB has decided that the Spicemas Corporation can proceed with plans for the stadium. The Spicemas Corporation, The National Stadium Authority, Ministry of Sports and the National Cricket association officials are expected to meet to discuss the preservation of the cricket arena as a result of the events for Spicemas. Some Spicemas events will not be able to be hosted at the National Stadium and alternative venues will be considered. An official announcement by the Spicemas Corportion will be made as to the final arrangements.
