MESSAGE FROM Salve Duplito: Over the weekend, an erroneous article on my #SalveSays segment entitled Where to put P100,000 came out in the ABS-CBNnews website. That article has since been taken down by the publisher. I have also asked them to retract. This is the first time this happened. They have always been very accurate and published very well-written reports. Anyway, to all my readers and viewers, please note that I did not say NOT to invest in pooled funds. My recommendations were tips on HOW to choose mutual funds and UITFs: choose legitimate companies with good track record, and choose those that charge less than 1% in management fees. This segment was a response to a viewer who said he wanted to invest in a mutual fund because the investment solicitor said his 15k would grow to 45k in a few years. As a financial advisor, I have to tell the public that this is a bad lie. Pooled funds DO NOT guarantee returns.
