MICHO INTENT ON BREAKING UGANDA CRANES AFCON JINX With less than 72 hours to Uganda’s home fixture against Togo, the Cranes remain optimistic of getting a result that will stay them on course to breaking the jinx of not qualifying for Africa’s biggest football show piece in 37 years. Uganda Cranes face Togo’s Sparrow Hawks in the 2015 Nations Cup qualifiers on Saturday looking to strengthen their grip atop Group E. The Cranes are level with Ghana on four points from two games but top thanks to a one-goal difference. Guinea are on three. And Milutin Micho Sredojevic knows the Togolese will come hard at Cranes knowing this is a make or break game for them. But Sredojevic also knows it is a game Uganda must win if they are to keep dreaming of breaking the AFCON jinx. “We live for occasions like these,” Said Sredojevich after Wednesday’s training at Namboole, adding, “It is going to be a mother of all battles but we believe we can break the jinx and put on another good display, “A lot of hard work has gone on behind the scenes, we have 25 players in camp all working hard to try and fulfill the biggest power we have to make the fans happy.” Togo who suffered a (2-1) and (3-2) loss to Guinea and Ghana respectively lie bottom of Group E and will be eager to kick start their campaign in the 2015 Afcon qualifiers. ‘Football is not about what you deserve but what you get and they got nothing from the two games they played. “We expect a tough match against Togo because they have a number of professionals playing at top European clubs and we will respect them but will give them a good game.” The Serbian added: “I will not make any promises but I believe in these boys, I believe in the fans and believe in God.” Sat, 11th October, 2014 Venue; Mandela National Stadium, Namboole, 4 PM Uganda vs. Togo, 4PM Entry Fees: 20,000/- (Ordinary), 50,000/= (VIP) and 120,000/= (VVIP)
