MODI LAUNCHES MAKE IN INDIA Today modi launched hi ambitious programme Make in India. Concept being that a let Indian and foreign firms manufacture in India and export if necessary. He is targeting 30 countries and 3000 major manufacturing firms. I have no doubt that with abundance of cheap and young labour in India which is very enterprising this programme will succeed in India in a big way. There are some jokers in India who feel that since we are opening our country for manufacturers to produce why should they transfer their technology to us. They will come produce and go if some other country offers them better opportunity. now this is being very knave. First why should any country will give us top of the line technology to us if our netas have in last 68 years not bothered to develop our own R&D ?Now by allowing these top firms to produce in India we get tremendous job boost in the country because we have 80 corer youth who need jobs. When these foreign firms produce in India they will have to invest billions of dollars which will be sunk cost. So no producer will be foolish enough to leave India and start somewhere else after investing so much in HRD and infrastructure. yes we will have to simplify our labour laws and cut red tape. The Indian states will also have to pull up their socks. What will be really good for us is that Indian companies will have face competition and to that extent will have to bring in quality control in their products.
