***MONARCH IS A STUNNER!!!*** A volunteer writes: Im in love with this handsome fellow! The first thing he did when I leashed him was give me a big smile, and then peed enough to raise the Hudson River by 5 inches as soon as we were out the door. How do you say likely housetrained . His leash manners are terrific, walking calmly and quietly by my side. Stopping for a photo session, he didnt mind being tethered, posed like a rock star and kept his eye on the treat in my hand. He sits when asked to and takes his reward treats gently. Hes a bit too thin and needs to gain a little weight, but nothing detracts from his good looks and gentle, sweet, and calm demeanor. Surrendered to our care due to an illness in the family, were told he lived well with other dogs, is friendly to all people, and is crate trained. Back in the building he greeted the other kenneled dogs with an easy tail wag as if reassuring them that they too would be going for a walk soon. Off leash chasing a tennis ball was a fun thing to do, but rolling over for a belly rub was even better! Monarch is an affectionate, calm, sweet boy hoping for a new family to love. Like the gorgeous butterfly after which he was named, Monarch is a joy to watch and a beauty to treasure. Youll swoon when you meet him. Time runs out for Monarch at noon tomorrow.
