Maggie either stumbled and fell, or didnt realize the path ended, - TopicsExpress

Maggie either stumbled and fell, or didnt realize the path ended, and went over a 20 ft. cliff at Pierce Island Dog Park. We couldnt see her, we could only hear her distressed bark. Joe was able to climb 1/2 way down to see that she had made it onto a flat rock. The tide coming in, with nowhere for her to go. I scrambled along the rocky base of the embankment on either side of where she was, but I couldnt reach her; I couldnt even see her. Of course I was completely distraught and when I couldnt hear her bark anymore, I thought for sure I had lost her. An onlooker called 911 and the Coast Guard sent two boats. Ports. Police and Fire & Rescue came too. Enormous gratitude for the Coast Guard Station Portsmouth Harbor for rescuing Maggie and making sure I got back on shore safely. You guys are my heroes! I also want to thank my good friends Joe & Heather for helping with the rescue.(I would have lost my mind if you two werent there) And I will never forget their amazing dog, Mazy, who bravely swam with me in the treacherous Piscataqua River, in an effort to reach her friend, Maggs. We stopped by to see the vet on the way home and thankfully shes fine. Good lord, what a morning... I think we both need a nap now!
