Man Beats Son To Death For Stealing UGX 10000 Gasta Kasendwa on a police patrol vehicle after killing his son Police in Rakai is holding a 35 year-old man for beating his own son to death. He accused him of stealing Ugx 1,000. Gasta Kasendwa, a resident of Mugamba village in Kanabulemu parish, Kyebe Sub-county, tied his 15 year old son Buoy Kapalaga with banana fibers and beat him up. Kapalaga was a P.7 candidate of St. Cyprian Lugonza Primary school. According to Rosemary Namuli, the deceased’s step mother, Kasendwa locked her in the bedroom and threatened to kill her if she dared to interrupt him while disciplining his son. Namuli says that her pleas for Kasendwa to pardon Kapalaga were in vain. She adds that neighbours who responded to the alarm arrived 20 minutes after the boy had passed on. His body was found lying in a pool of blood with deep wounds all over. By the time police arrived, blood was still oozing from the nose and mouth. Detectives at the scene searched around and recovered several marijuana plantations in the backyard. The brutal incident took place on Wednesday morning. Charles Matovu , the Mugamba LCI chairperson mobilised residents to hunt for Kasendwa who had disappeared after realising that the boy had died. They arrested him from the bush where he was hiding and dragged him to Kateera Police station before he was transferred to Rakai police station. Rakai District Police Commander, Nelson Sooma condemned the act and appealed to residents to always respond to alarms in time to avoid similar incidents. He also appealed to parents to always report matters beyond them to LCs or police for help. However, Kasendwa admitted to the crime which he deeply regretted saying he acted out pof anger. In June this year Richard Bwanika, 36, a resident of Kiweesi Village, in Kyotera town council beat his eight year old son to death for dodging school while in September Stanley Tusubira 37, the director of Miracle Academy Primary school, Nakatogo, in Rakai District was arrested for beating a 13-year-old Jane Kirabo Nakiganda to death accusing her of stealing 3000 shillings from a classmate.
