Man... lessons in home brewing; DO NOT USE BOTTLES Not meant for high pressures. I had three 1 liter bottles. One was the one from a canadian stout, with a lever stopper top. The other two were from target. As some may remember, I filtered and bottled up my brown ale, adding sugar in each bottle. Fast forward to 4:15am this morning. We were awakened by a sound , like a .45 (*more THUD*). We jumped out of bed, and while my wife scrambles around with a Mossberg. My spider senses... well, just my nose, ;-) detected toasted peanuts, caramel, and malt. I knew then that something happened to my bottle conditioning beers. I checked in the dark, inside the closet and sure enough. The two bottles that were from Target were blown to pieces, with a puddle of brown brew. I licked it, and damn... its good! Well, lesson learned. Atleast we have one bottle left to show my efforts. Will be more careful next time.
