Man were those the days, wouldnt trade em or the friends for the world. To the kids of Elm Mott that grew up playing in our neighborhoods instead of the hoods. The neighborhood football and baseball games played in the field next to the church at the end of Ash Street, slumber parties, & God forbid the first one who fell asleep at one, catching lightening bugs and taking their lights off & using them as headlights on our hotwheels (God forgive me), phones had cords that you stretched till they couldnt be stretched anymore, suppertime was a meal at the table with your family phone off the hook and tv was off as well, when you couldnt be found your parents knew which door to go knock at cause your bicycle was laying in the frontyard, riding bikes and motorcycles on the trails back by the Elm Mott Water Tower, Little Blue Country, DQ, I could go on & on, walking to our friends house from one side of the interstate to the other and not complaining about it, but most of not wanting to sit in the house all day with a phone or a video game. We truly enjoyed childhood and growing up. Those were the days and I treasure them so much. Melissa Ard Mclearen thanks for starting this and making me and all of us take a trip down memory lane !
