Mangka was selected as the singer to represent all of India in the ABU Radio Song Festival international event, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with the gala event on May 23rd. She performed Manipuri Folk Song “Tamla Loibi”. She was chosen from many entrants to be Indias sole singer in the competition. Then from all the international entries she made it to the final group to actually perform at the Gala festival in Sri Lanka. She is there with her father Mangansana, the director of Laihui Ensemble. The Festival embraces and recognizes the diverse musical talents of nations within the region by uncovering the best original and unsigned musicians. This is the second edition of the ABU Radio Song Festival. The inaugural Festival was held in Seoul in 2012 in conjunction with the 2012 ABU General Assembly. The songs for the Festival have been offered by ABU Radio members and these are showcased on this website. Among these, the best entrants will be determined by an international selection committee and the selected artistes will perform at the Gala Event in Colombo on 23 May in conjunction with the RadioAsia2014 Conference.
